Love in All Colors in KC

KC Heartland’s LGBTQIA+ Community

Love in All Colors in KC

KC Heartland is home to a very supportive and inclusive community, with more than 60,000 people in our region identifying as LGBTQIA+. Our open hearts led us to host one of the longest-running and largest Pride Fest celebrations in the U.S., and we are proud to rank as a top location for equality.

The Parade of Hearts, a public art campaign that ran March to June 2022, featured several LGBTQIA+ inspired KC Heart sculptures placed around the region, including “Pride of the City,” “Love in All Colors,” and “Be You. Do You. Celebrate You.

From entertainment and restaurants to civic committees and resource centers, KC offers a variety of opportunities to connect. Explore the links below as a starting point to tap into Kansas City’s LGBTQIA+ community.
